Did You Know That Everybody Sells?
Everybody sells, and sells everyday!
Whether we understand it or not. Whether we are a professional or not. Whether we are any good at it or not. Everyday, everybody sells. You — Me — The person next door — We all sell.
Let me explain what I mean. By nature, the people we expect to sell are salespeople. Everyday, 1000’s of men and women travel out to face the world, representing themselves, their company, and their products. Their goal is to identify prospects and show these people why the salesperson‚ or particular product or service would enhance this person’s business or personal life. In the end, they‚ would like these prospects to buy their product or service.
These salespeople act according to the textbook definition of selling, which is being in demand, to cause acceptance, transfer to another for money.
There are a lot of people in this professional category. Over a million individuals earn a living as salespeople in the United States. This makes up a very full percentage of the total white-collar work force. And this number represents only a small fraction of those who sell.
Who are the others? As I said already, we all are Selling. You. Your children. My children. And they all can become a sales guru.
